Producer

 is a Brussels-based non-profit organization for artistic production, run by Vincent Meessen. Normal has produced, co-produced and curated numerous exhibitions, symposiums and screening programs, bringing together international projects, artists and intellectuals. Normal has produced the exhibition Personne et les autres for the Belgian Pavilion in Venice, as well as the research platform Karawane accompanying the exhibition in Brussels. Co-produced by the école de recherche graphique (erg) with associate professors Catherine David, Camille Pageard, Raphaël Pirenne and Christophe Wavelet, and coordinated by Lotte Arndt, Karawane ran from October 2014 till February 2015 in erg, Iselp and Bozar, with interventions by: Dieter Lesage, Ina Wudtke, Pedro Monaville, Vincent Kenis, Jean-Pierre Nimy Nzonga, Katerina Gregos, Vincent Meessen, Maryam Jafri, Marc Dachy, Gérard Berréby, Gilles Collard, Kenza Sefrioui, Marion von Osten, Jean-Pierre Rehm, Patrick Bernier & Olive Martin, Mustapha Khayati, Valérie Kanza, Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc, Sammy Baloji, Phillip Van den Bossche, Patricia van Schuylenbergh and Kerstin Winking.

Other international productions by Normal include Speculating on Change (2013) and Bewitched system (2012), co-directed by Vincent Meessen and Pablo Martinez on behalf of Normal and Centro de Arts dos de Mayo CA2M, Madrid; Prospectus (2012) at Netwerk, center for contemporary art in Aalst; Hantologie des Colonies (2011), in several art spaces and movie theaters in Paris and its suburbs; Distant Montage (2011) at the Ecole Régionale des Beaux Arts de Valence; Video Lounge (2009) at CEAC, Xiamen; Shadow Cabinet – Three Rendez-Vous (2008) at Extra City Kunsthal in Antwerp; and Aigres Sons (2006) in collaboration with WemTeng Clan in Ouagadougou.
